Lofers Day Use Passes Pass

Whitney Lake

This is a DAY USE PASS for use at Whitney Lake’s day use areas operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Whitney Lake is a flood control reservoir impounded in 1951 on the main stem of the Brazos River in Texas. It controls drainage for 17,656 square miles of Texas and parts of New Mexico. The reservoir encompasses a surface area of more than 23,500 acres and 225 miles of shoreline. The area consists of rolling, tallgrass prairies; cedar trees; hardwood timber; and 100 ft bluffs and rock points. Throughout the length and breadth of the lake, the US Army Corps of Engineers manages multiple campgrounds, parks, and day use areas for the public’s enjoyment and recreation.

The DAY USE PASS grants users access to either of Whitney Lake’s two day use areas: Lofers Bend Day Use and McCown Valley Day Use. Pass holders will be able to utilize whatever facilities fall within those areas on the date specified on their passes. Some of the recreation opportunities available in those day use areas are horseback riding trails, swim beaches, boat ramps, covered picnic areas with grills, and more. This pass does not guarantee parking or picnic shelter availability so be sure to get here early and remember to always wear your life jacket!

All visitors at Lofers Day Use are required to pay a day use fee. Each pass covers one vehicle of visitors. Please be prepared to show your hard copy pass or digital pass on your mobile device.

Print out or download the pass on your mobile device in advance of your visit. Connectivity may be limited, and the pass must be available to show at all times when visiting Lofers Day Use.

A printed copy of this pass is also required for your vehicle. Fold the printed pass on the dotted line and display it on the dashboard, with the QR code visible, at all times during your visit.

Operators of motorcycles and open-top vehicles must carry this pass on their person. Passes should not be left on an unattended motorcycle.

Passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.
