Little Sahara Recreation Area

Little Sahara Recreation Area is Utah’s premium OHV area with the popular 700-foot Sand Mountain and Sunset Hill. Little Sahara is approximately 62,000 acres and includes four campgrounds, dump stations, trash receptacles, and water fill stations. Non-motorized areas are fenced and available for digging and playing in the sand within Jericho and White Sands campgrounds. 

Visitors of Little Sahara Recreation Area enjoy spectacular OHV riding on 23,000 acres of sand dunes, the popular Black Mountain trail network, digging in the sand in Jericho and White Sands, and hiking within the Rockwell Natural Area.  

All visitors at Little Sahara Recreation Area are required to pay an entrance fee. Please be prepared to show your hard copy pass or digital pass on your mobile device. This pass is valid for the day you arrive until dusk the next day (day/night/day).

Print out or download the pass on your mobile device in advance of your visit. Connectivity may be limited, and the pass must be available to show at all times when visiting Little Sahara Recreation Area.

A printed copy of this pass is also required for your vehicle. Fold the printed pass on the dotted line and display it on the dashboard, with the QR code visible, at all times during your visit.

Operators of motorcycles and open-top vehicles must carry this pass on their person. Passes should not be left on an unattended motorcycle.

The visitor center helps collect fees, so if the entrance station is closed please show your pass to the ranger at the information desk in the visitor center.

Long lines for entrance to Little Sahara Recreation Area are common during peak season, on holidays, and during the summer months, and purchasing this pass does provide special or faster entry into the park.

Little Sahara Recreation Area annual private vehicle pass allows the purchaser access for 1 year to the end of purchase month. (i.e. purchase an annual pass on March 1, 2021 the pass is valid until March 31, 2022). Once purchased, you must print and exchange your pass. (See Pass for exchange locations)
