Crater Lake National Park charges an entrance fee. You may purchase a 7-day or annual pass below, valid for Crater Lake National Park only. You MUST download your pass QR code before arriving to the entrance station. There is limited to no connectivity in the park.
- Summer months (May-Oct): both Annie Spring and North Entrances are staffed so advanced purchase of a digital entry pass is not required. However, it is highly recommended that you purchase your pass in advance to help reduce long lines at the entrance. Please make sure to download your pass QR code before arriving at the station.
- Do you already own a valid Interagency annual or lifetime pass? If you already have an Interagency Senior pass, Access pass for persons with a permanent disability, Military pass, etc., you do not need to purchase another one here.
- Are you visiting more than one park? If you plan to visit other national parks or federal lands, consider purchasing an Interagency Pass (Annual, Senior, Access, Military, etc.) when you arrive at Crater Lake.
- Site Passes purchased on Recreation.gov are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- To determine your eligibility or review all pass options, please visit Crater Lake National Park 's Fees & Passes web page. After reveiwing your options, you may wish to consider purchasing in advance one of the passes below.
- Winter Months (Nov-April):
- Advanced purchase of a digital pass is not required. Passes can be purchased at the Annie Spring Entrance Station (south entrance) in person.
- North Entrance is closed
- If you are entering the park on a snowmobile and only have one person in your party, purchase the Individual/Snowmobile/Cyclist pass. If you are entering the park in a road-based vehicle or you are on snowmobiles and your party is larger than one person, purchase a private vehicle pass.
- Be prepared for changing weather conditions, limited access to the lake, and poor visibility.
All visitors at Crater Lake National Park are required to pay an entrance fee. Please be prepared to show your physical pass or digital pass on your mobile device. Photos of physical passes will not be accepted.
The Private Vehicle Pass and Individual/Snowmobile/Cyclist Pass are only valid for entrance fees at Crater Lake National Park.
The Crater Lake Annual Pass is also valid for entrance fees at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Lassen Volcanic National Park and Lava Beds National Monument.
Print out or download the pass on your mobile device in advance of your visit. There is currently no cell phone service or Wi-Fi at the south entrance, and overall service throughout the park is limited.
Crater Lake sits at an elevation of 6,900 feet (2103m) in the Cascades of Southern Oregon. Winters bring an average of 50 feet (15m) of snow to the park which can last well into the summer. Park conditions continually change, and we strongly encourage all persons to check the park's Current Conditions web page before planning a trip to Crater Lake, regardless of the time of year.
Passes are non-transferable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced. We encourage visitors to check the weather forecast prepare for weather conditions. We are unable to issue refunds due to weather.
