El Mirage Ohv Recreation Area Pass

El Mirage Ohv Area

El Mirage Dry Lake Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area consists of the 4800 acre dry lakebed with in the 24,400 acres of public land for motorized recreation. It's located 13 miles north west of Adelanto. The lakebed is wide and flat surrounded by rolling, rocky hills. It is a 'primitive' camping area with several vaults toilets, a few shade ramadas and picnic tables bring water and take your trash with you when you leave because there is no trash collection. 'Pack it in-Pack it out'. Season is from Oct. 1-Sept. 30.

Camping is permitted throughout the area but is limited to 14 consecutive days. Remember to pack out your trash and secure it in your vehicle for the trip home. Campfire permits are required for campfires, propane stoves lanterns, barbecues. Open flames of any kind may be restricted during fire season (typically May-October). Campfire permits can be obtained online at www.preventwildfireca.org

OHV visitors to El Mirage must comply with all of Division 16.5 of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) https://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=26302 Non-residents to need pay attention to CVC 38087.5 and non-resident passes are not sold at the ranger station.

Possession and/or discharge of fireworks is prohibited. 43 CFR 2912.1(h)

Pets must be leashed. 43 CFR 8365.2-1(c)

Burning tires, magnesium, wires, petroleum products or any other hazardous or explosive material is prohibited. 43CFR651-1(b)(2)

Firewood containing nails, screws, and other metal hardware is prohibited at all Barstow area OHV Open Areas, including Dumont Dunes. 43 CFR 8365.1-6

DOT Safety helmet is required for operators and passengers of UTVs (CVC 3805) and ROVs less than 1000 CCs (CVC 38601).

It is illegal for anyone to operate an OHV under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. OHV CVC-23152(a)

All primary vehicles at El Mirage Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area must display a valid pass.

A printed copy of this pass is required for your 'primary' transportation vehicle such as a tow vehicle, motorhome, pick-up truck or passenger vehicle of any kind entering EL Mirage. Fold the printed pass on the dotted line and display it on the dashboard, with the QR code always visible.

Operators who arrived on a street legal motorcycle as their primary transportation to El Mirage or in an open-top vehicle must carry the pass with them. Passes should not be left on an unattended motorcycle or in any open vehicle.

No Golden Age Passport or America the Beautiful Interagency Pass discounts are applicable. Passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.

El Mirage OHV Recreation Area is an expanded amenity recreation fee site.

Daily passes are $15 (total at checkout).

Weekly passes are $30 (total at checkout).

Annual pass is $90 (total at checkout) and the pass season is Oct. 1-Sept. 30.
