New Melones Lake

New Melones Lake is the 4th largest reservoir in California. Nestled in the Sierra foothills between the historic towns of Sonora and Angels Camp, the lake offers visitors extensive recreational opportunities. The campgrounds offer an excellent basecamp for boaters, fisherman, mountain bikers, hikers, and rock climbers. Visitors can easily visit Yosemite National Park or Big Trees State Park. For those visitors less inclined for adventures, you can visit the historical towns of Sonora, Angels Camp, or Columbia. And winw tasting is always an option in the town of Murphys.

• Passes are only valid at New Melones Lake.
• Passes are non-transferable, and non-refundable.
• Valid for pass holder and the occupants of a non-commerical vehicle.
• We also offer first-come, first-served daily use passes. You will need to pay after arriving on site by scanning our facility QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. Please download and sign into the free Recreation.gov mobile app on Android or iOS prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited cellular service: https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app
