Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest
Toccoa River Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area offers outdoor enthusiasts developed access to the scenic Toccoa River Canoe Trail, group campsites, and paved parking. The Day-Use Area includes a visitor information kiosk, a paved access ramp for small boats, a vault toilet, and picnic tables.
The Toccoa River Canoe Trail begins at the Deep Hole Recreation Area and traverses 13.8 miles of the scenic Toccoa River before it flows into Lake Blue Ridge. This water trail is perfect for experienced paddlers who are looking for a few rapids, smooth pools, and plenty of beautiful scenery along the way.
Toccoa River Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area is open year-round and offers boating, fishing, picnicking, and swimming opportunities for Forest users.
The day pass is only good for the day purchased and permits the use of the boat launch and day use amenities.
All visitors are required to display a proof of payment for their Day Use pass, with confirmation number, on the dashboard of their vehicle for the duration of their stay.
If purchasing onsite, please have the Recreation.gov app downloaded prior to arrival. Once purchased please write down confirmation number on provided envelope and post in vehicle dashboard.
This pass does not guarantee parking availability. For your safety, please remember that parking outside of designated areas is discouraged and visitors who park illegally may be fined and towed. This pass is valid until 11:59 PM of the date listed on the pass, and only for the date and vehicle specified for this pass.
America the Beautiful Passes: Senior, Access, Military, Gold Star, Veteran, and Golden Age Senior/Access area accepted at this site. These passes cover fees for the passholder and up to three adults per vehicle.
Passes are non-transferrable between operators, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.
Cell phone connectivity on the forest may be limited. Plan ahead.
This area is only open from sunrise to sunset and no camping is Allowed in Day Use Parking Area.
The Campground is adjacent to the Day Use Area.
Dogs are required to be on a leash at all times.
