The Apostle Islands' protected bays, public docks, pristine beaches, historic sites, and natural beauty offer outstanding boating and sailing opportunities.
- Public docks are available first-come, first-serve on 12 of the islands (the docks are NOT available to reserve in advance). You'll pay the overnight docking fee upon arrival. Be sure to download the Recreation.gov mobile app before you visit so that you can make payment on your device.
- Please allow as much space as possible for other boats to dock. NOTE: Space is reserved at some docks for National Park Service (NPS) vessels and excursion boats.
Visit Apostle Islands' Current Conditions web page for closures and other information.
All visitors to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore who dock overnight (6pm - 6am) are required to pay the fee. This fee is an expanded amenity fee. There are no entrance fees at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.
Please write your confirmation number, date of purchase, & other requested information onto the provided receipt and place in the window of your boat where readable.
Docking fees:
- $15 per night for boats less than 40 feet in length
