Dumont Dunes Ohv Recreation Area Pass

Dumont Dunes Ohv Area

Dumont Dunes Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area is a sand dune system with 7,620 acres of public land for motorized recreation. It's located 40 miles north of Baker, CA on Highway 127. The dunes have steep climbs, large bowls and fun transitions. Be aware the dunes are always changing and re-shaping from the wind. It's a 'primitive' camping area with several vault toilets, bring water and take your trash with you when you leave because there is no trash collection. 'Pack it in-Pack it out' .

The area offers a corridor route through the Kingstons and Sperry Wash Trail. These routes and the surrounding 'limited use' area requires vehicles to travel only on designated motorized routes.

Camping is permitted in the 'flats' of Dumont Dunes but is limited to 14 consecutive days. Remember to pack out your trash and secure it in your vehicle for the trip home. Campfire permits are required for campfires, propane stoves lanterns, barbecues. Open flames of any kind may be restricted during fire season (typically May-October). Campfire permits can be obtained online at Prevent Wildfire California

OHV visitors to Dumont Dunes must comply with all of Division 16.5 of the California Vehicle Code (CVC)

Non-residents need to pay attention to CVC 3808 7.5 and Non-Resident passes are NOT sold at the dunes.

All primary vehicles at Dumont Dunes Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area must display a valid pass.

A printed copy is required for your 'primary' transportation vehicle such as a tow vehicle, motorhome, pick-up truck or passenger car entering Dumont Dunes. Fold the printed pass on the dotted line and display it on the dashboard, with the QR code always visible.

Visitors who arrive on a street legal motorcycle or in an open-top vehicle as their primary transportation must carry the pass with them. Passes should not be left unattended in an open vehicle.

No Golden Age Passport or America the Beautiful Interagency Pass discounts are applicable. Passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable, not replaceable if lost or stolen, and are void if altered or reproduced.
