Lake Greeson is about 12 miles long with over 7,260 surface acres of water fed by the clear cool waters of the Little Missouri River. Loblolly pine, shortleaf pine, sweet gum and oak are the dominate tree species on upland areas of the lake, while bottomland hardwoods are common along rivers, creeks, and streams that enter the lake. The public lands around Lake Greeson provide a variety of habitats for numerous species of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, geese, bald eagles, migratory waterfowl, and songbirds.
Crater of Diamonds State Park is within 15 miles of the campground. It is the only diamond producing site in the world open to the public.
Lake Greeson is recongized for its rich variety of game fish, including large mouth, small mouth, stripped, spotted, and white bass, as well as flathead and channel catfish, black crappie, walleye and blue gill. The clear waters offer an excellent opportunity for many boating activities including water skiing, tubing, personal water craft, or cruising the lake.
Trout Fishing is a popular attraction for this campground. Access to the clear cold waters of the Littler Missouri River generated below Narrows Dam is available at the Riverside Day Use Area just a few miles from the campground off of AR-19N. Trout stocking for the river below the dam is provided by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
