Natural Features

Price Creek Campground sits at 7,873 feet in elevation and is surrounded by Lodgepole pines providing lots of shade and natural beauty. A large variety of wildlife, including deer, elk, moose and even an occasional black bear can be seen passing through the area.

Nearby Attractions

From Price Creek campground visitors have easy access to many different recreational activities. The Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway is a 49 mile long drive that travels the length of the Pioneer Mountain range and itself provides visitors with interpretive sites along the way including Coolidge Ghost Town, Grand Vista Overview and a wide array of hiking and riding trails. Just an easy 1.5 miles drive north of Price Creek, people can visit Crystal Park; a 30 acre area open to the public for digging for quartz crystal. Finally, after a day of recreating you can head down the road and take a relaxing dip in the natural hot springs located at Elkhorn Hot Springs Resort.

From Dillon, travel 3 miles south on I-15 and take exit 59 to MT HWY 278. On 278 travel west for 22 miles to the Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway turnoff. Proceed north approximately 16 miles. Turn right onto FS road 2406 for 1/4 mile to the campground.

From Butte, travel approximately 20 miles south on I-15 and take exit 102 to MT HWY 43. On 43 travel east for 12 miles to Wise River, MT. From Wise River, you will turn south onto the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway (HWY 73) and proceed approximately 28 miles and the campground will be on your left (FS road 2406).

    • 16 day camping limit
    • No garbage service, Pack it in Pack it out

    • First come first service sites; cash/check only no change available 
    • $5 Extra vehicle fee
      • If vehicle (motorcycle, ATV/UTV) is hitched/towed onto site no addition fee collected
    • Reservations may be forfeited, without refund, for failure to occupy campsite on first night and for absences exceeding 24 hours thereafter
