North Fork Catherine Creek Group Campground
Wallowa Whitman National Forest
- North Fork Catherine Creek Group Campgrouind is situated along North Fork Catherine Creek in the southeast Wallowa Mountains of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The area has abundant wildlife and plant species, and sits in a mixed confer forest. There are two wilderness trailheads nearby.
Several picnic tables and fire rings are located at this site. There is one vault toilet in the campground.
Need to Know
During the early spring and late fall, snow conditions may necessitate closing the access road to this facility. For the latest conditions, please call the La Grande Ranger District at (541) 962-8500 or the Whitman Ranger District at (541) 523-6391.
Prior to your arrival, please call (541) 962-8500, (541) 523-1332, (541) 523-1322 or (541) 523-1383 at least one week prior, to obtain the keys or lock combination.
Please bring garbage bags. This facility is "Pack it in, Pack it out."
Water is not available.
Campground is open for reservations annually, season dates are mid June through the end of October.
Please print/save a copy of your reservation receipt and have it with youi to verify payment.

North Fork Catherine Creek flows strong year-round.
Recreation
The campground is a mile downstream from North Fork Catherine Creek Trailhead, a main portal to the Eagle Cap Wilderness. This trail is open to horses and hikers, and is closed to motorized vehicles and bicycles.

Driving Directions
North Fork Catherine Creek Group Site is located approximately 17 miles southeast of Union, Oregon. Union is about 14 miles southeast of La Grande. From Union, take Hwy 203 east. The road turns southeast up Catherine Creek. Follow the road for 11 miles and turn east onto FS Rd. 7785. Stay on 7785 for 5.5 miles and the group site is on the right through a gate.
