Facilities

Our campground facilities are as follows:

  • 53 individual standard sites with a max of 10 people and 2 vehicles are allowed per site. All standard sites contain picnic tables, grills, and firepits. Grills and firepits available only as fire restrictions allow. Some individual standard sites have shaded picnic table areas. Common vault toilets, trashcans, and drinking water are provided.
  • 3 fully accessible campsites. At these sites, in addition to the parking spot having a concrete surface, as they do at most of the other sites at the facility, there are concrete pathways leading to the restrooms, which are all accessible.  
  • 10 walk-to sites with a max of 1 tent and 1 vehicle per site. All walk-to sites contain picnic tables and grills. Grills available only as fire restrictions allow. Common vault toilets, trashcans, and drinking water are provided.
  • 6 RV Sites which have room for 1 RV and 1 vehicle per site. Common vault toilets, trashcans, and drinking water are provided. There are no hookup services (electrical, propane/gas, water tank filling, or grey/black water disposal).
  • 7 large group sites can accommodate up to 50 people and 8 vehicles per site. All group sites have a shaded picnic table area. Each group site is primarily tenting with 10 individual small tent areas. Common vault toilets, trashcans, and drinking water are provided nearby. Grills and campfire circles available only as fire restrictions allow. 
  • Parking is limited to the campsite's designated parking. There are no extra parking areas and no Day Use Area in the campground.
  • All campsites must be reserved online at Recreation.gov

Natural Features

Explore the peak tops, rolling sandstone ridges, steep walled canyons which highlight special wildlife, vegetation, and cultural history. The campground is in a quiet bowl near some of the most popular rock climbing destinations in the country, providing privacy with limited shade.

Recreation

The Red Rock Scenic Drive & Visitor Center is located 3 miles from the campground. If visitors would like to visit the scenic drive, they must have a separate timed entry reservation for each day they plan to enter the scenic drive. Reservations are required October 1 to May 31, 8am -5pm. Red Spring/Calico Basin is located 2 miles from the campground and is a no fee area and does not require a reservation.

Activities available are miles of hiking trails, rock climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and road biking. Guided hikes and educational programs available on certain days at the Visitor’s Center.

The Red Rock Canyon campground is located at 3293 Moenkopi Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89161. To get there from Clark County 215 Beltway west, take the Charleston Blvd. exit (exit #26) and head west. Drive 3.5 miles to Moenkopi Rd. Turn south on Moenkopi Rd. and drive for a mile (past the BLM Fire Station).

Need to Know

  • All campsites must be reserved online at Recreation.gov.  

    Check-in time: 3pm

    Checkout time: 11am

    Quiet hours: 10 pm to 6 am

    Please check in with camphost for required vehicle permits that need to be displayed in the rear view mirror at all times. If the camphosts are not available for check-in they will come by your campsite to check you in.

    You must occupy the site that you reserved. 

    Pets must be leashed and supervised at all times.

    Keep your campsite clean, food inside of vehicles and throw away trash properly. 

    Parking is limited to the campsite's designated parking. There are no extra parking areas and no Day Use Area in the campground.

    ***Due to supply shortages we have limited bathroom supplies (toilet paper, cleaning supplies...etc)

  • Individual-standard campsites:

    Are limited to 10 people and 2 vehicles per site. 

    Camp sites #1-25 and 43 HAVE a shaded picnic area.

    Camp sites #26-42 and #44-53 DO NOT have a shaded picnic area.

    Additional vehicles are at an additional cost and only permitted if they fit within the site. Vehicles must NOT block access to emergency vehicles. See camphosts for payment of additional vehicles. 

    Class A and Class C recreational vehicles or gooseneck trailers ONLY fit in camp sites #1-45.

  • Walk-to Sites:

    Walk-to sites are limited to 1 vehicle and 2 smaller tents per site. 

    Walk-to camp sites DO NOT have a shaded picnic area.

  • Group Sites:

    Group sites are limited to 50 people and 8 vehicles per site. 

    The closest pit toilets to group sites G and F are located at group site A. There is minimal light along that path and a flashlight/headlamp are needed. 

    All group sites HAVE shaded picnic area.

  • RV Sites:

    RV sites are limited to 1 RV and 1 vehicle per site. 

    There are no hookup services (electrical, propane/gas, water tank filling, or grey/black water disposal).

    RV sites HAVE NO shaded picnic area. 

    RV/Trailers/Pop-Up Vehicles:

    Class A and Class C recreational vehicles or gooseneck trailers DO NOT fit in individual-standard campsites #46-53. 

    Check sizing details of each campsite as they are all different. After full set up, the vehicle must be within the designated space. It cannot overflow into the road. Emergency vehicles and normal traffic flow must be able to get through. 

  • No-Show Policy: We reserve the right to cancel your reservation if you do not arrive within 24-hours of your scheduled arrival. If you will be late, please contact us at BLM_NV_RR_Campground@blm.gov.

    If you can no longer make your reservation, please cancel it on recreation.gov, so that others may be able to reserve. 

  • Campground reservation holders do not need to book a Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Scenic Timed Entry ticket in order to access the campground. If visitors would like to visit the scenic drive, they must have a separate timed entry reservation for each day they plan to enter the scenic drive. Reservations are required October 1 to May 31, 8 am -5 pm.

  • Campground Closed June 1 - August 31. Campers can reserve sites up to six months before arrival for standard stites and 12-months for the group sites. Maximum length of stay is 14 days.

  • Fires are only allowed in BLM provided metal fire rings when fire restrictions allow. No firewood is available on site; however nearby grocery stores do sell bundles of firewood. Fire season is generally May-October. During this time, only propane stoves are allowed.

  • America the Beautiful Senior Lifetime Passes and Access Pass holders receive 50% discount on camping fees for standard individual and RV sites only (discount not available on walk-to and group sites). Passholder must be onsite and the camphost will verify the pass that is used for the site. 

  • Limited cellphone coverage.

  • Prepare for the elements temperatures can go below freezing in the winter and spike up to 100+ during the spring and summer season. Winds can gust 30+ MPH, make sure everything is tied down and secure in your campground.

  • Off-road vehicles are not allowed in the campground.
