Aitch Recreation Area is located approximately near the geographic middle of Raystown Lake along the western side. The recreation area is easily accessible from US Route 26 and offers a great location for picnicking and fishing on an accessible pier.
Aitch offers one group shelter with approximately 10 tables and 20-amp electrical outlets. It is fully accessible and comfortably accommodates up to 80 people with a view of the lake.
HOURS: Picnic shelter hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Use of shelter must conclude by 10:00 p.m. (beginning of quiet hours).
PARKING: !!!VERY IMPORTANT!!!: Reserving this shelter DOES NOT guarantee parking. Parking is first-come, first-serve in adjacent lots. To ensure everyone in your party can park on the day of your reservation, be sure your group arrives early in the day and maximizes carpooling , ESPECIALLY on busy weekends. Parking in undesignated spaces (i.e. grass, areas lining parking lots, etc.) may result in citation.
WATER: This shelter DOES NOT have potable water.
RESTROOMS: Vault restrooms are located approximately 75 yards from this shelter. Portable toilet rentals are permitted at discretion of park ranger staff. Portable toilets may not be placed more than 24 hours in advance of your reservation and must be removed upon departure. Please call 814-658-3405 x. 0 to request permission at least 30 days prior to your reservation date.
DUMPSTERS: Trash cans are not located at the shelter, but dumpsters are located in adjacent parking lots for your convenience.
CLEANUP: Prior to your departure, your group is responsible for cleaning up the shelter area. Remove all decorations, directional signs, tape, tacks, confetti, food, and other trash from the grills, floors, overhead rafters, posts, etc. Return picnic tables to their original positions underneath the shelter. Shelters will be inspected upon your departure and violators will be prosecuted.
DECORATIONS: Permanent fasteners, such as nails, staples, wire, etc., that are difficult to remove and may damage the shelter CANNOT be used to affix or hang decorations. Thumb tacks, tape, and other easily removable fasteners are encouraged. Reservation holder is responsible for any damages to facility.
SPECIAL EVENTS: You are REQUIRED to request a special event permit at least 60 days in advance of your reservation if your event includes, but is not limited to, any of the following: 1. You are setting up a large event tent, entertainment group (i.e. band), bounce house, portable toilets, or other structure that sits outside of the footprint of the shelter, 2. Your event attendance well exceeds the capacity of the shelter, 3. Your event involves vendors, fundraising, food sales, or the exchange of money on government property. PETS: Pets are permitted but must be penned, caged, on a leash under six feet in length, or otherwise be physically restrained. Remove and dispose of all pet waste.
VOLLEYBALL: There is a grass volleyball court located within 50 feet of this shelter.
RESERVATION CONFIRMATION: Upon request of park staff, you must be able to provide proof of your reservation with a printed or digital copy of your confirmation letter. Aitch is situated in a cove of Raystown Lake. Nearby access to the lake makes this shelter a great place to picnic, fish and boat.
The area offers Aitch Boat Launch, James Creek Boat Launch, Tatman Run Recreation Area, Lake Raystown Resort, Seven Points Recreation Area and the Seven Points Marina.
Lakeside fishing piers and excellent aquatic habitat makes Aitch a popular area for shoreline anglers. A boat ramp within the facility provides access to the 8,300-acre Raystown Lake, which is popular for boating, camping and fishing.

Aitch is located near the town of Marklesburg, PA. From Huntingdon continue 10.5 miles southbound along Rt. 26 to Marklesburg. At Markelsburg turn left onto Aitch Road (marked by sign). Aitch Road leads directly to the Shelter location (0.8 miles).
