Need to Know

• Wassataquoik campsite is 0.9 miles from the Wassataquoik Gate or 1.4 miles from the Barnard Mountain trailhead. Access to the Wassataquoik Gate is via the south entrance on Swift Brook Road.

• Pets must be on a leash of six feet or less at all times.

• Campfire permits from the Maine Forest Service are required. Call 207-435-7963 prior to your trip to obtain a free permit.

• No cell phone service.

• No potable water (bring a water filter).

• No trash service. Practice Leave No Trace principles and carry out everything you carry in, including all trash and food.

• Obtain firewood locally within 10 miles of your campsite.
