Need to Know

• This campsite cannot be accessed by road. You must hike or bike to camp at this site. The closest parking is at the Wassataquoik Gate or Barnard Mountain trailhead. Access to the Wassataquoik Gate is via the south entrance on Swift Brook Road. 

• Campfire permits from the Maine Forest Service are required. Call 207-435-7963 prior to your trip to obtain a free permit.

• No cell phone service.

• No potable water (bring a water filter).

• No trash service. Practice Leave No Trace principles and carry out everything you carry in, including all trash and food.

• Obtain firewood locally within 10 miles of your campsite.
