Site 2 is located 140 feet from the parking area.
Lunksoos campsites may be reached by road via the south entrance to the monument on Swift Brook Road. Campsites are located a short walk from the parking area.
Swift Brook Road and Seboeis Road are unpaved. Use caution when traveling on gravel roads, which may be rough with ruts, potholes, and sharp rocks. All gravel roads in the area are shared with logging and equipment trucks. It is important to drive slowly, keep to the right side of the road, and yield to oncoming trucks. Vehicles with higher clearance are recommended.
Individual Lunksoos campsites are located on the east side of the Seboeis Road, across from the Lunksoos Boat Launch. Two group sites are located on the west side of the Seboeis Road, a short distance from the East Branch Penobscot River. Paddlers may access all sites by leaving boats at the boat launch and walking a short distance to designated campsites.
Campfires in designated fire rings have been authorized by the Maine Forest Service. No additional permit is required for campfires at Lunksoos.
