This is a hike-in nonelectric cabin within the Twelve-Mile Beach Campground area. The hike is approximately 1 mile each way via the North Country Trail and Twelve-mile Beach Campground.
This is bear country! All food items, beverages, cooking equipment, food storage containers and pet food must be kept sealed in a hard-sided vehicle when not in immediate use (day or night).
Combination to the door lock will be provided via email.
Water may be drawn from Lake Superior, but it is recommended that all water be purified.
There is no parking onsite. All individuals must park in the designated parking spots within the Twelvemile Beach Campground and hike in to the backcountry cabin.
Light housekeeping is asked of any occupants. Please be sure to sweep up any debris that may have entered the cabin. Any trash should be packed up and out from this location.
There are no stoves or refrigeration available at this site.
There is no electricity available at this site.
Matresses are provided, but no linens or blankets.
Campfires are permitted in fire rings only. Fires or hot coals cannot be left unattended. Purchase wood locally. No collecting of wood. No cutting of standing trees or limbs. Ash firewood is prohibited. Beach fires are not allowed.
Pets are prohibited.
RVs, and motor homes are not allowed at this site.
Snowmobiles are not permitted on the North Country Trail.
Generators are not allowed at this site.
No more than eight people may occupy this cabin.
There is no toiletries/toilet paper provided at the primitive toilet.
Any items brought to the cabin must be taken out with the individual. This is a pack in, pack out, campsite!
