This site is located on the Green Trail accessed from Kingfisher Landing. There are many opportunities to fish along the way, in Bluff Lake and around the platform. Paddle across Bluff Lake and continue on the green trail to get to the shelter. The night-sky may be beautiful on a clear, dark night.
Bluff Lake is a dual use shelter meaning that day-use paddlers and motor boaters are permitted to visit as long as they return to Kingfisher Landing by the designated off the water time. You must, graciously, share the platform with day-users. Do not set up your full camp until 1.5 hours before off the water time. Please welcome and leave some space for day-users to enjoy the platform.
NO FIRES OR CHARCOAL GRILLS. Please refer to the refuge brochure for additional trip planning information and Know Before You Go tips. Keep trails and platforms free of litter; you must pack out ALL garbage generated from your trip.
Permit holders take full responsibility of knowing the distance between overnight stops.
