Need to Know
- Alaska cabin reservations can only be changed once. If you need to modify your reservation a second time,it must be cancelled and then re-booked by calling 1-877-444-6777.*Effective November 17, 2003 to assure fairness for everyone.*
Open fires must be in fire ring, collect dead/down wood only.
Cabin is primitive, no amenities except outhouse.
Stream water must be boiled or treated for drinking.
Directions to Campground:
3 1/2 miles southwest of Juneau on Douglas Island. Access by 3 mile
trail on Pioneer Street off Cordova Street. - PROXIMITY: Approximately 3 1/2 miles to downtown Juneau.
RESTRICTIONS: Snow vehicles allowed only when there is 12 inches or more
snow. 2 day stay limit.
ACTIVITIES: Hiking, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling,
berry picking and hunting.
ENVIRONMENT: Spruce - hemlock forest, open wet meadows to alpine area and
exposed ridges. Deer, black and brown bear, grouse.
Easy access to alpine area, sweeping views, year round access. Large cabin. Abundant wild flowers and berries. Trailhead
near bus line.
