Need to Know
- Alaska cabin reservations can only be changed once. If you need to modify your reservation a second time,it must be cancelled and then re-booked by calling 1-877-444-6777.*Effective November 17, 2003 to assure fairness for everyone.*
Cabin is primitive, no amenities execpt woodstove and outhouse. Open fires
must be in fire ring. Collect dead or downed wood only. Lake or stream
water must be boiled or treated before drinking. All garbage must be packed
out. Bring personal floatation devices for the skiff.
DIRECTIONS: In the center of Admiralty Island, S end of Hasselborg Lake,
near lake outlet. Floatplane or canoe/ portrage access.
One-way flight time from Juneau is approx. 45 minutes. By
canoe/portage it is approx. 6.5 mi. to Mole Harbor.
ONE ROOM CABIN, CAN ONLY ACCOMODATE 2 PEOPLE. - On Cross-Admiralty Canoe Route: 2 mi. paddle/portage to Beaver Lake; 2 mi.
hike to Guerin Lake; 2 mi. paddle to Little and Big Shaheen Cabins.
Natural scenery within Kootznoowoo Wilderness. Dense spruce and hemlock
forest. Deer and brown bear in area. Skiff with oars provided; user may
bring a small outboard of less than 10 horsepower.
