Need to Know
- Alaska cabin reservations can only be changed once. If you need to modify your reservation a second time,it must be cancelled and then re-booked by calling 1-877-444-6777.*Effective November 17, 2003 to assure fairness for everyone.*
Cabin is primitive, no amenities except woodstove and outhouse.
Open fires must be in fire ring. Collect dead or downed wood only. Lake
and stream water must be boiled or treated before drinking. All garbage
must be packed out. Bring personal floatation devices for the boat.
DIRECTIONS: South central part of Admirality Island at North
end of Jim's lake. Floatplane access only,
approx. 50 min one way flight time from Juneau. - Float plane access only: 60 miles to Juneau, 14 miles to Angoon, 6 miles to
Hasselborg Lake, and 8 1/2 miles to Gambier Bay. Within Kootznoowoo
Wilderness; natual scenery with spruce and hemlock forest, deer and brown
bear. Jim's Lake is approximately 1 3/4 miles long and 1/3 mile wide. Near
Yellow Bear Mountain. Skiff with oars is provided; users can bring a small
outboard of less than 10 horsepower.
