Need to Know
- Alaska cabin reservations can only be changed once. If you need to modify your reservation a second time,it must be cancelled and then re-booked by calling 1-877-444-6777.*Effective November 17, 2003 to assure fairness for everyone.*
Open fires must be in fire ring, collect dead/down wood only. Cabin is
primitive, no amenities except oil stove and outhouse. Bring #1 stove
oil for the oil stove. Stream water must be boiled or treated for
drinking.
Directions:
26 miles northeast of Juneau on East shore of Take Inlet. Access by
shallow draft boat or floatplane. 12' or higher tide recommended. - Restrictions: Ability to land a float plane or boat at cabin may depend
on tide.
Activities: Fishing, hunting, hiking, berry picking.
Wide glacial river, near salt water. Spruce, hemlock forest; deer, black
and brown bear, waterfowl, fish. Taku Inlet fluctuates with tide.
Sweeping view of Norris and Taku Glaciers. All 5 species Pacific Salmon
Cabin and outhouse are wheelchair accessible from beach.
