Need to Know
In addition to being an active communication site, the area is a popular dispersed recreation use area with hiking, recreational shooting, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and camping.
- The parking area of the lookout is accessible by car during the summer months, although the access road is rocky, a higher clearance vehicle is recommended for the drive.
There is a "Lookout Parking" sign at the parking area, please park in the designated parking area and do not block access to the gate. During the winter months access is from a small pull off area along Highway 103 and travel on foot 2 miles to the lookout.
The combo key box is attached to stairs of the lookout. - You must walk approximately 1 mile to access this site during the summer months. Site access is difficult requiring a hike up a steep road. Winter storms can limit access to the site and visitors should be prepared to snowshoe or cross-country ski 2-3 miles to the lookout. No tent, trailer, or RV camping allowed at this lookout.
