Fires are not permitted at wilderness sites. Portable camp stoves are permitted for cooking.
No carts, bicycles, or wheeled vehicles of any kind are permitted in designated wilderness.
All water sources within the wilderness must be treated before drinking.
Wilderness camping must be done within designated areas. Beach camping and dispersed camping are not permitted on Cumberland Island.
All food and trash must be hung out of reach of wildlife and packed out when departing the site.
Deposit human waste in a 6 inch deep "cathole" at least 70 paces from the campsite and water sources. Pack out all trash.
