The Eccles Canyon Scenic Byway makes its way over mountainous terrain nearly 10,000 feet above sea level. The views are spectacular and the history is rich, especially in the little lake town of Scofield. This byway makes up part of the Energy Loop, a National Scenic Byway, and provides travelers with glimpses into the past and glorious views of the present.
Navigating the Byway:
Eccles Canyon Scenic Byway begins at the junction of SR-31 and SR-264 at the top of Fairview Canyon. Take SR-264 to the junction with U-96 and follow U-96 past Scofield Reservoir to the town of Colton on Highway 6.
