El Bosque Nacional El Yunque es el único bosque tropical lluvioso que pertenece al sistema de bosques nacionales. Con sus casi 29,000 acres, es uno de los de menor tamaño en extensión territorial, sin embargo es uno de los bosques nacionales de mayor diversidad biologica. The El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rainforest in the national forest system. At nearly 29,000 acres, it is one of the smallest in size, yet one of the most biologically diverse. Directions

Driving Directions to the Main Entrance to the Forest on Road PR 191 North in Rio Grande: From the Airport/San Juan: Enter the Román Baldorioty de Castro highway (PR-26) toward the east. The highway will merge into highway PR-66 (toll road). Continue on PR-66 until it ends and turn right onto PR-3 East. Stay on PR-3 for approximately 6.3 km. After entering Rio Grande, you will turn right at the light onto Calle Principal (PR-955). Take your first left onto PR-191 to continue to the forest. Continue on 191 up the mountain until you reach the entrance sign for El Yunque National Forest.
