Dream Lake Wedding Proposal
My boyfriend, Connor, and I were spending the weekend in Estes Park with my family. I thought we were day for a fun family getaway since we usually spend a good amount of time in the mountains during the summer but didn't get an opportunity this summer due to COVID. I was really looking forward to a relaxing weekend hiking and spending time with family but little did I know my boyfriend had a bigger plan.
We woke up early the morning of October 3, 2020 and made our way to the Bear Lake Trailhead to hike the Emerald Lake trail (Nymph lake, Dream lake and Emerald lakes). The trail was crowded but it was a beautiful, crisp fall morning! We got to Dream Lake and as I was looking around it was beautiful but as I mentioned, pretty crowded. Therefore, I looked at Connor who was right behind me and said "Let's just keep going and get to the last lake!" He said "Sure, but will you just take a minute, look around and soak it all in?"
As I began to look around I saw my boyfriend's parents sitting up on the large rock looking over the lake. I ran up to say hello to them and inquire what they were doing here and as soon as I turned around, Connor was on his knee at he most perfect spot overlooking the picturesque lake. By the time I got down to him, all of the people admiring the water and surrounding scenery cleared out to give us a moment to ourselves with a clear background behind us for pictures! It was truly the best moment of my life and even more special to experience it in my favorite national park of all times!
