The San Gabriel Canyon Off-Highway Vehicle Area is located 11 miles north of Azusa on Highway 39. Over 160 acres of rocky, sandy river bottom await users of two, three and four-wheeled off-highway vehicles (OHVs).
The OHV Area and obstacle course is open Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day) at 8 a.m. All visitors must exit by 4:30 p.m. Special closures may occur if unusually high water, wildfire or capacity crowds occur.
Access into the San Gabriel Canyon OHV Area is through the Staging Area located along Highway 39. Parking and restrooms are provided. Food service is available at Camp Williams in the East Fork of San Gabriel Canyon. The nearest towing and gas services are located in the city of Azusa.
San Gabriel Canyon OHV Area has implemented a timed ticket reservation system in order to better manage high visitation demand. Tickets are issued per vehicle. Two types of tickets are available, Primary Vehicle, and Secondary Vehicle. A Primary Vehicle is any vehicle driven into the OHV area under its own power. A secondary vehicle is any vehicle trailered or hauled into the OHV area by a primary vehicle. Secondary vehicle tickets are only valid when purchased in conjunction with a primary vehicle ticket purchase.

A primary vehicle is any vehicle driven into the OHV area under its own power.
A secondary vehicle is any vehicle trailered or hauled into the OHV area by a primary vehicle.
Secondary vehicle tickets are only valid when purchased in conjunction with a primary vehicle ticket purchase.
Please print or screenshot your QR code before you leave home so we can check you in when you get to the OHV area. There is no cell phone service available at the San Gabriel Canyon OHV Area.
All vehicles are subject to inspection and / or search prior to entry.
The possession of alcoholic beverages is prohibited at all times.

All vehicles must be currently registered: green or red stickers (seasonally) for off-highway vehicles; regular state registration is required for street-legal 4-wheel drive vehicles.
All ATVs and motorcycles must be equipped with an approved spark arrestor, properly installed and maintained.
Approved muffler systems are required on all motorized vehicles.
All trucks, SUVs and cars must be 4 -wheel drive (4WD) or All Wheel Drive (AWD) to enter the OHV area. Any truck, car, or SUV that is not 4WD or AWD will be limited to the staging area.
Due to the upcoming San Gabriel Reservoir Post-Fire Emergency Restoration Project , construction equipment and/or activities may be located within the OHV area. OHV users must respect all signs and fencing and avoid areas with construction equipment and/or activities.
Any vehicle which does not meet entry requirements will be denied entry and refunds will not be issued. Refunds will be issued when cancellation occurs before 6AM of the day the ticket is valid for.
Cross streams only at 90-degree angles.
Do not operate vehicles in the San Gabriel River or Reservoir except to cross at designated crossings.

Reservation Fee: There is a $2 non-refundable reservation fee for each timed ticket. Recreation Fee: A fee of $8 for each primary vehicle and $5 for each secondary vehicle is charged for the San Gabriel OHV Area. By purchasing a permit you are confirming that the associated vehicle meets all requirements for entry including proper vehicle registration, approved spark arrester or muffler system, and any other protective equipment required by the State of California for off-highway vehicle operation. Refunds will not be issued for vehicles denied entry due to non-compliance with area rules or state regulations.
