Cadillac Summit Road - Daytime

Cadillac Summit Road Vehicle Reservations

Cadillac Summit Road offers a 3-mile scenic drive to the top of the highest peak in Acadia National Park. Parking, restrooms, a gift shop, and overlooks connected by a paved walk are available at the summit.

Need to Know

  • Park Entrance Pass Required

    In addition to purchasing a vehicle reservation for Cadillac Summit Road, vehicles must display a park entrance pass through the windshield. Park entrance passes are available online at Recreation.gov. 

  • Ticket Availability

    For information on when vehicle reservations will be available for purchase, please click on the Seasons & Booking tab.

  • Reservation Limits

    One Cadillac Summit Road - Daytime reservation is allowed per vehicle each day. 

    Reservations are per vehicle—not per person.

  • Printed or Digital Ticket Required

    Print or save a digital copy of the QR Code that comes with the vehicle reservation confirmation email. It will be scanned to verify the reservation. Internet and cellular connectivity are unreliable in the park.

  • Entry Time

    Vehicles must enter the reservation area during the time period shown on the reservation.

    Reservations provide a timed entry, but do not require a departure time until 9:00 pm when Cadillac Summit Road is closed to vehicles.

    Reservations do not permit re-entry.

  • Road Rules

    The speed limit on Cadillac Summit Road is 25 mph. 

    Drivers should use caution when traveling the road and must give 3-foot clearance when passing bicyclists and pedestrians.

  • Parking Availability

    Parking is available in the west and east lots at the summit.

    Reservations do not assign a specific parking space.  

    Parking outside of designated spaces is prohibited.

  • Vehicle Length Limit

    Vehicles over 21 feet long (including bike racks and hitch attachments), recreation vehicles, and trailers are prohibited on Cadillac Summit Road.
